Do you look at your phone just before bed?
Do you check your social networks, read the news or google stuff in bed? If so, you’re risking the quality of your sleep. The blue light from screens suppresses melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep/wake cycle –so switch them off!
Adding to this, the sound of late night alerts and messages can trick your brain into thinking it needs to stay awake. So, when your ‘go to bed' alarm goes off (Tip 2) an hour before bed, set your morning alarm, then put your phone down and stay off it. Don’t get tempted by something on Netflix or Stan, or doing some late night email catch-up. Snuggle up with a book or spend time relaxing and preparing for bed!
