Introducing AirTouch N20, our first nasal mask to use patented ResMed UltraSoft™ memory foam cushion technology that adapts to each individual's face for a personalised fit. Like our full face option, it's designed to provide a light and breathable seal for unprecedented comfort and reduced skin irritation.

AirTouch N20 Features
  1. Plush headgear is designed to provide users with extra softness and comfort.
  2. Modular frame design means users can switch from the AirTouch N20 UltraSoft™ memory foam cushion to the AirFit™ N20 InfinitySeal silicone cushions with ease, providing choice and convenience.
  3. UltraSoft memory foam cushion performs well up to high therapy pressures* while helping reduce skin irritation and facial marks around the nose. Designed with low-touch maintenance, all that’s needed is a wipe down after each use and for it to be replaced once a month.
  4. Quick-release elbow makes it simple to connect and disconnect the mask from air tubing, so users can get up without having to remove the mask.
  5. Magnetic clips guide the headgear to the frame quickly and easily, so putting on and taking off the mask is easy.**

*AirTouch N20 is validated at therapy pressures up to 30 cm H2O
**Use of masks with magnetic components is contraindicated in patients with the following pre-existing conditions: a metallic hemostatic clip implanted in the head to repair an aneurysm and/or metallic splinters in one or both eyes.

Sizing the mask cushion

  1. Familiarise yourself with the cushion-sizing template provided and the cushion sizes available.
  2. Hold the sizing template under the patient's nose, and use it to determine the most suitable cushion size. For this mask, you are only looking to assess the width of the patient’s nose.
  3. Select the matching cushion and try it on your patient for comfort and fit.

Mask fitting

  1. Take the mask elbow/short-tube out of the frame by squeezing the quick-release buttons and pulling the elbow out.
  2. Ensure the magnetic clips are not connected to the frame. Twist and pull them away from the frame if they are.
  3. Place the cushion under your patient’s nose, and pull the headgear and frame over their head.
  4. Bring the lower headgear straps under your patient’s ears, and attach the magnetic clips to the frame on both sides.
  5. Unfasten the upper headgear straps, and pull them evenly until the mask is secure and comfortable.
  6. Unfasten the lower headgear straps, and pull them evenly until the mask is secure and comfortable.
  7. Pick up the elbow/short-tube and connect it to the air tubing from the CPAP machine.
  8. Reattach the elbow/short-tube with the air tubing to the frame.

Fitting

  1. Bring the mask above your patient's head and then down over their face while ensuring the elbow is centred on the top of their head.
  2. Place the headgear behind their head and the cushion under their nose.
  3. Adjust the headgear until the mask and cushion are comfortable.
  4. Disconnect the elbow from the top of the frame and attach it to their air tubing.
  5. Reconnect the elbow with the air tubing to the top of the frame.

Managing mask leak

  1. If you feel air escaping the mask cushion from any area other than the vent, you should try the following steps to locate and stop the leak.
  2. If air is escaping from different areas of the cushion, try pulling it away from your face and letting it reseal itself.
  3. Run your finger over the top half of the cushion to check for upper cushion mask leak.
  4. Adjust the upper headgear straps as needed to achieve a secure seal.
  5. Run your finger under the bottom half of the cushion to check for lower cushion mask leak.
  6. Adjust the lower headgear straps as needed to achieve a secure seal.
