Your ResMed AirSense 11 device comes ready to receive remote firmware updates, also known as over-the-air (OTA) updates*. These updates allow your device to use the latest technology and firmware for optimal efficiency and therapy performance.

What’s new?

This update delivers improvements to the AirSense 11 platform firmware and foundational enhancements for future product releases and improvements. Notable features of this update include:

International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) Display

In certain countries, the IMEI number must be either physically displayed on the device or stored electronically in the software so that it can be accessed on-screen when needed.

The IMEI number is now viewable directly on the device’s screen. To access it, navigate to the Home Screen, select ‘+ More’, scroll down, and tap ‘About’.

Chinese and Japanese Font Upgrade

For applicable devices, a new font file upgrade enhances the quality and consistency of Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese characters on the device interface.

Updated Tubing or Humidifier Leak Message

An updated alert now notifies users when a high tubing or humidifier leak is detected. Previously, separate messages were shown for leaks from the tubing and the water tub/side cover. The new message combines both, prompting users to check both the tubing and the water tub/side cover.

Humidifier firmware update

Provides software improvements intended to help reduce the occurrence of humidification error messages displayed on AirSense 11 devices, triggered under certain operating conditions. 

Note: The AirSense 11 OTA update is classified as a Product Defect Correction in Australia (TGA ref: RC-2024-RN-00338-1) and a Product Correction in New Zealand (Medsafe ref: 32943). 

AcousticSignal

To aid in the development of new software features that aim to improve the experience ResMed AirSense™ 11 users have with their therapy and equipment, ResMed has introduced an optional feature in AirSense 11 devices called AcousticSignal.   

AcousticSignal is an optional feature that uses the acoustic sensor inside ResMed AirSense 11 devices to capture and assess a series of short 0.2 second acoustic signals to identify important characteristics about a user’s equipment. The acoustic sensor does not do any active listening or does not capture, record, or transmit sound or speech from outside the device. The intentional placement of the acoustic sensor within the device ensures only acoustic signals from within the device are captured. 

AcousticSignal will only run when therapy has started on the device and only assesses acoustic information related to user therapy. All therapy related acoustic signals are converted into a digital signature made up of a series of numbers. This means ResMed cannot hear you speak or identify any sounds. Once converted and encrypted, this series of numbers is securely transferred to the cloud and helps ResMed identify important characteristics of the device equipment. All acoustic signals captured by the acoustic sensor are immediately deleted from the device after they are converted into the encrypted digital signature. 

You can turn this feature off at any time by navigating to the ‘More’ menu from their device Home Screen and setting the AcousticSignal toggle to Off.
